The OFSTED inspectors base their findings on the following Key Inspection Judgements:
Outstanding: this aspect of the provision is of exceptionally high quality
Good: this aspect of the provision is strong
Satisfactory: this aspect of the provision is sound
Inadequate: this aspect of the provision is not good enough
The staff at the Nursery ensure that all aspects of care and education that are required by OFSTED are maintained at all times.
In 1999 the Government announced that in England, Day Care Providers, caring for children under the age of eight years, would be regulated by a new Early Years Directorate within the Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED).
The National Standards represents a baseline of quality below which no Provider may fall. They also intend to underpin a continuous improvement in quality in all settings.
There are 14 National Standards, each of which describes a particular quality outcome. Regulations under the Children's Act require Providers to meet these 14 standards.
Whitehill Nursery School fulfils the requirements of the National Standards in the day-to-day management of the Nursery. All information associated with how these National Standards are implemented with the appropriate Operation Plan are available for parents/guardians and visitors to review.
The Nursery regularly conducts self evaluations which ensure that high standards are always maintained in line with changes in regulations associated with the Birth to Three and Foundation Stage Curriculums.
